RECENTLY we were delighted to win Bronze for Career Prospects at the 2025 Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs).

'We don't just fill jobs, we fill resilient communities'

What makes this recognition so special? It's based entirely on student feedback.

Tens of thousands of reviews were collected across UK universities, positioning the University of Staffordshire third in the UK for Careers Prospects.

To be recognised in this way speaks volumes about our priorities, impact and vision.

In today’s complex and fast-evolving world, the value of higher education cannot be measured solely by academic achievement or employment statistics.

True success lies in empowering students - particularly those from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds - not just to succeed professionally, but to thrive as responsible, value-driven citizens who can contribute to a more prosperous and equitable society.

This is a responsibility that University of Staffordshire and our Employability team embrace wholeheartedly.

Levelling the playing field for students who might otherwise be overlooked in traditional recruitment is central to our mission. These students carry untapped potential, and with the right curriculum, practical experience and employability support, they become innovators, leaders, and changemakers.

For example, our Graduate Accelerator Programme, now in its fourth year, is a powerful testament to this philosophy.

Designed to support underrepresented graduates, the programme bridges the often daunting gap between university and professional life.

It provides structured, part-time internships funded through innovation grants, allowing graduates to gain work experience while earning an income.
