'We are not here just to make up the numbers'

PORT Vale boss Darren Moore concedes League One won't be easy next year and they can’t afford to have any off days - but insists his side aren’t there just to make up the numbers.

The days are ticking down until the season opener at Rotherham in early August, and fans will be heartened by Moore's statement as excitement increases every day. Speaking from the club’s preseason training camp in Wales, Moore told BBC Radio Stoke: “There’s a real sense of ‘are we the finished article?’ - no, we're nowhere near it.

“We're really pleased to be back competing in League One but we're certainly not in League One just to make up the numbers.
