Lakeside site proposed as permanent memorial

A PERMANENT memorial is being planned to more than 1,000 people from Stoke-on-Trent who died during and after the covid pandemic.
A potential site has been identified at Westport Lake, and talks have taken place with Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Businesses and training organisations are also in talks about joining the project as part of their apprenticeship programmes.
The project is being led by Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Gareth Snell and Lynn Jones, who lost her husband Gareth to covid during the pandemic.
