Terrace clashes see match called off after 84 minutes

Club 6-0 and two men down when violence erupted behind goal

UGLY scenes on the terraces forced the abandonment of Kidsgrove Athletic's Northern Premier League match with Avro FC.

Footage widely circulated on social media captured the chaotic scene. It appears to show players and fans involved in a violent confrontation behind one of the goals.

At one point in the 34-second clip, a player appears to throw a punch at someone in the crowd. The trouble erupted in the 84th minute of Kidsgrove's away match at the Oldham club. The visitors were trailing 6-0 at the time and had been reduced to nine men. Both clubs issued statements after the incident.
