Thief gave bike back after being caught red-handed

- Sentinel Reporter

A BEEKEEPER was caught red-handed stealing a bike - after the owner saw him pushing it down the street.

Gary Shaw raided a garage on Kettering Drive, in Eaton Park, while taking his dog for a walk.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard the 42-year-old also caused hundreds of pounds’ worth of damage by forcing his way through the victims’ garden gate.

Prosecutor Helen Shipley told the court: “The address in this case is occupied by a male and a female. The female occupant said it was about 5.20pm. She heard a noise outside which she thought might be the neighbours. She saw a dog, which was confusing as they do not own a pet. She then saw the defendant.
