Town shoe shop shutting down after 50 years
SHOE shop owner David Farmer is preparing to put up the closed sign for good as a business that's served families for 50 years is to shut.
David has run Farmer's in Newcastle since 1995, when he took over from his parents Frank and Sylvia. They founded the High Street business in 1975.
Business was booming when David shelved his plans to join the police to help run the shop.
