SANDYFORD had to dig deep to maintain their unblemished record in NSSCL Division Two in a low- scoring encounter against Meir Heath.

- Chris Travers

Sandyford went into the contest on the back of a hat-trick of wins, while Meir Heath made the road trip with three straight defeats on their record.

It looked like the tables might be turned at the halfway point of the contest, though, after Sandyford were bundled out for just 64.

Mitchell Underwood (10) was the only home batsman to reach double figures as Matthew Shaw’s 4-22, plus double strikes from Muhammad Raja and Dale Heath, seemingly put Meir Heath in command.

But in-form Sandyford managed to perform a rescue mission in the second half as they routed Meir Heath for a paltry 45.

Raja top-scored with 15, but Gareth Kinsey's 5-6, Kalhara Senarathne’s 3-6 and two wickets for Maz Akhtar, ensured that the hosts made it four wins out of four.

Little Stoke also have a perfect record after their comfortable victory at Elworth seconds. Three wickets apiece for shazad Liaqat (3-15) and James Ecclestone (3-21) were backed up by Arris Ziad’s double as Elworth were dismissed for 118.

Jacob Underwood (25), Matthew Yardley (20) and Andrew Zajac (14) made the most progress with the bat.
