Website 'misleading' to potential donors

A CHARITY raising money for a dedicated Stoke-on-Trent air ambulance has been criticised by the Fundraising Regulator.

The FI has been investigating Stoke Air Ambulance CIO after complaints about its online and face-to-face fundraising activities.

It is not taking any action over face-to-face fundraising but it found the charity used ‘misleading information to attract donors’ and unfairly criticised other organisations. The Charity Commission has also started a statutory inquiry into Stoke Air Ambulance CIO.

Stoke Air Ambulance has previously announced it has agreed terms on its first helicopter, allowing it to reach patients in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire within minutes. It has a hub in The Potteries Centre.
