Families call for speed camera on the A34
FAMILIES living on one of Stoke-on-Trent's busiest roads are calling for a speed camera to be installed.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council reduced the speed limit on the northbound carriageway of the A34 Stone Road, near Hanford roundabout, from 40mph to 30mph, in 2023 after residents complained they could not get in and out of their drives safely due to motorists travelling too fast.
But families who live on Stone Road have told The Sentinel the speed reduction has not solved the problem as they claim many motorists ignore it.
Now they are calling for a speed camera to be fitted to hammer home the message and prevent someone being seriously injured or killed.
