Easter fun for families as community garden celebrates five months of improvements
FAMILIES are being urged to celebrate Easter at a newly improved community garden.
Volunteers have been busy preparing and transforming land at Spode Rose Garden, in Stoke, for the last five months including pruning, weeding and litter removal. Raised flower beds have been installed and some painting carried out to further brighten up the pocket park on the historic Spode Factory site.
Plans have begun to install a children's play area, and tomorrow, an Easter egg hunt takes place.
Volunteer co-ordinator Carol Britnell said teams have helped out on fortnightly volunteer days. She added: "We have been very pleased with what has already been done and are really looking forward to our Easter egg hunt, which will be the first family fun activity we have been able to hold at the garden for a while, and is free to attend.
