Flood-hit Paul has to wait months for pipe repair
A FLOOD-hit homeowner has criticised 'absolutely appalling' Severn Trent - after being told he will have to wait until 2026 for a broken pipe to be repaired.
Paul Bowyer moved into his Werrington home in February and started carrying out major renovations.
But in May his street and the outside of his property were left flooded with sewage after a 'heavy downpour' overwhelmed the drainage system.
The 55-year-old says he reached out to Severn Trent for help - only to be told the problem cannot be fixed until February after planned work was twice cancelled at the requests of nearby residents.
Mr Bowyer said: “A bloke put a camera down the grid when he realised he couldn’t get it all the way down because there was a blockage and debris in there. He said they’d have to send another specialist team out.
“A month later, another team came out. They freed the blockage and found a damaged pipe further up the street. They marked the road where it needed to be repaired. But nothing happened.
