Bumper celebrations mark county’s big day

- Sentinel Reporter

A HOST of events has been lined up to help celebrate the ninth annual Staffordshire Day on May 1.

This year it’s a bumper celebration, running until the bank holiday on Monday. It provides plenty of opportunities for people to take part in a busy countywide programme of events, many of which are free.

They include:

■On the anniversary of Josiah Wedgwood setting up the world-famous pottery firm, World of Wedgwood in Barlaston has free taster factory tours tomorrow.

Tamworth Castle is offering free entry for children accompanied by a full paying adult tomorrow afternoon.
