Five arrests after late-night brawl on city estate

PARAMEDICS have assessed a man and woman for 'potentially serious injuries' after violence flared on a city estate.

Police and paramedics had been called out to Wellfield Road in Bentilee on Thursday night to reports of a 'fight involving a group of people'. Staffordshire Police confirmed how five arrests were made - four men and one woman - before the woman was de-arrested and taken to hospital.

Plain-clothes officers and forensics remained in the neighbourhood yesterday while the arrested men remain in custody.
