Dogged last batter Bason digs in to steer Alsager to nailbiting win
The Sentinel
|July 28, 2025
ALSAGER moved to within 14 points of NSSCL Premier A safety with a thrilling one-wicket victory over leaders Checkley.
Hosts Alsager were set 228 to win - and their run chase proved to be a topsy-turvy affair before they eventually prevailed.
James Bloor and Anuk Fernando both made 18 early on, before Ageel Ahmed top-scored with 60, including seven fours and three sixes.
Sam Goodwin played his part with 10, but at 200-9, it looked as though Checkley were on course to bank another success.
