NANTWICH TOWN won their third match in a row to move into the next round with a 2-0 home win over Charnock Richard.

COMPLETES CUP COMEBACK

Callum Saunders, on his 150th appearance for the Dabbers, had a couple of early chances and Alex Panter fired over the bar as Nantwich called the tune but the first half ended goalless.

Nantwich eventually broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute. A right-wing cross from Josh Williams was fumbled by Ryan Hamer and Perry Bircumshaw squared the ball for Byron Harrison to tap home.

Paddy Kennedy headed against the top of the crossbar but one goal proved to be enough.

NEWCASTLE TOWN were the only one of our teams to be knocked out following a 3-1 defeat at Sutton Coldfield Town.

Sutton went ahead in the 19 th minute when Jayden Campbell did well down the right before sending over a cross that Luca Taylor headed past Joe Slinn.

They doubled their lead five minutes before the break when Taylor beat a defender and set up James McGrady to place a shot into the bottom corner.

Sutton keeper James Wren made a good save to prevent Castle from getting back into it but they fell further behind six minutes into the second period.

The ball fell to Campbell out wide and he cut inside and beat two men before firing a shot into the roof of the net.

Newcastle's lone reply came in the 90th minute through Tyrone Cadeau.

In the Northern Premier League top division LEEK TOWN picked up their first points of the season with a 1-0 victory over Morpeth Town at the F Ball Community Stadium.

The Blues made the early running and Tyreece Onyeka had a shot blocked before Liam Edwards had a header pushed away by Dan Langley.

Leek then scored the crucial opening goal in the 18th minute. Hayden Campbell played a good ball to Alex Hurst and after his shot was blocked by Langley it looped up for Connor Heath to head home.
