AUDLEM stretched their NSSCL Division Four lead to 16 points after winning their top-of-the-table clash at Burslem seconds.

The leading duo served up an entertaining clash which went down to the penultimate ball before visiting Audlem secured a six-run win.

Audley made their way to 201-5 from their 40 overs on the back of half-centuries from Richard Wilson and Christopher Shenton.

Wilson hit six fours and one six in his 61 not out, with Shenton’s 54 containing half-a-dozen boundaries.

Dave Blatherwick (34no) and Tom Measures (23) were also in good form, while Wasim Ahmed scooped a couple of victims.

Burslem saw Michael Rowley (43), Syed Haider Bukhari (36), Chris Lowndes (33), Sifit Tajik (31) and Adam Ainsworth (17) impress on the resumption.

However, they were bowled out for 195 as Simon Swift grabbed 3-43 and there were double strikes from Vijayan Rahul and Bertie Hardy.

Kidsgrove are up to third place in the standings following their success at Moddershall & Oulton fourths.

Annamalai Veerappan and Paul Jackson contributed 45 and 39 respectively to the Modd men’s 132 all out in the formative stages.

Callum Mcliveen, Mathew Turnock and Lee Oliver shared six of the wickets to fall.
