He reaches Sentinel Shield semi after beating player who went to school with his kids

- Sentinel Reporter

Alan proves golf is for all ages!

Alan Hodgkinson had a fine away win at Burslem Golf Club against Nathan Wilkinson Jones as he came out on top with a 2&1 victory.

Afterwards Alan revealed that he had got through to the semi finals back in 2016.

He added: "I have enjoyed the matches that I have played in so far this year, obviously I would like to progress to the final but I am aware the remaining players will be tough opponents.

"I had a good start in my match at Burslem and went four up after five holes but Nathan fought back and took it to the 17th.

"Nathan was very pleasant and competitive. And just to prove that golf is a game for all ages he went to school with my children."

Adam Heath, who entered the competition for the first time this year, came out on top against Kirk Ross of Malkins Bank.
