Milestone at KIMS: Cancer patient successfully treated with advanced electron beam therapy

IN a major achievement for cancer care in Odisha, the Radiation Oncology Department at KIMS Cancer Centre has successfully treated a patient using Electron Beam Therapy (EBT), an advanced form of radiation treatment designed to precisely target cancer on or near the skin.

The patient, from central Odisha, was battling Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma — a type of cancer that primarily affects the skin and causes multiple painful, oozing growths across the body. Before arriving at KIMS, the patient had already undergone surgery to remove some of these growths and had received several rounds of chemotherapy.
