THE 5th edition of Jagatsinghpur Heritage Walks (JHW) unfolded as a poignant celebration of the district's rich history, drawing around 40 heritage enthusiasts from across the state. The walk not only offered an exploration of significant landmarks but also a journey through the region's stories, memories, and cultural pride.
The event began at the Astasambhu Temple in Hajipur, a spiritually vibrant site linked to ancient legends. Pilgrims invoked the blessings of Baba Kadambeswara, Astasambhu, and Maa Chhinnamasta, setting a reverent tone for the day. According to local legend, the temple, which is believed to house eight Shiva Lingams installed by the Pandavas, has been repeatedly rebuilt after destructive floods. The current structure is a modern restoration, though remnants of the ancient temple are still visible on the grounds.
