ROAD SAFETY MEASURES RAMPED UP FOR NEW YEAR

With Phuket already recording 122 deaths and more than 26,000 injuries in road accidents this year, provincial authorities have now pledged stronger, better-coordinated action to reduce losses over the upcoming New Year holiday period.

Phuket recorded 74 road accidents resulting in 70 injuries and five deaths during last year’s extended New Year safety campaign, while the province suffered a total of 147 road deaths and 25,968 injuries across 2024.
