Senate Resets VP Impeach Complaint Reading to June 11

Senate President Francis Escudero has moved the presentation of the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte from June 2 to June 11, just days before Congress is set to adjourn.

In a statement yesterday, Escudero said this will allow the Senate to focus on the passage of priority pieces of legislation before it adjourns sine die on June 13.

"Accordingly, from the original schedule of June 2, the presentation of the Articles of Impeachment by the House of Representatives' prosecution panel is now set to 4 p.m. of June 11," Escudero said in his letter explaining his decision to Speaker Martin Romualdez, a copy of which was also transmitted to the Office of the Vice President.
