LPA enters PAR; rains expected over Luzon, Visayas
The Philippine Star
|October 01, 2025
A low-pressure area east of the Visayas has entered the Philippine area of responsibility and could develop into a tropical depression within the next two days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported yesterday.
As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the LPA was located 1,070 kilometers east-northeast of Eastern Visayas. It is moving south-northwest and is expected to bring rain over parts of Luzon and the Visayas in the coming days.
PAGASA said the LPA may enhance rainfall across Northern and Central Luzon, including Metro Manila, beginning tomorrow.
By the weekend, the system is forecast to move toward the West Philippine Sea, improving weather conditions in most of Luzon, although scattered showers may persist over the Ilocos Region and western parts of Central Luzon.
While the system has not yet intensified, PAGASA urged the public to remain alert for possible floods and landslides due to localized downpours.
