DTI Urges Accreditation of Service-Related Firms

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is urging repair shops and other service-related firms to comply with accreditation requirements as part of its consumer protection thrust.
In a statement, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) said it inspected 662 business firms in Metro Manila and the provinces of Cebu, Misamis Oriental, South Cotabato and Davao City to ensure that accreditation requirements are being complied with.
The monitoring activities covered 512 service and repair shops, 131 sea freight forwarding companies and 19 private emission testing centers.
