Comelec to hold voter registration in BARMM

To prevent disenfranchisement of young voters in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reversed its earlier decision not to hold a voter registration in the BARMM.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the poll body reconsidered the plan after realizing that there were 1.8 million BARMM residents aged 15 to 17 years who registered for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) in 2023.
