Brazil Wants to Export More Agri Products to Phl

Brazil is eyeing to expand its agriculture exports to the Philippines by sending more meat products and accessing newer markets such as apples and onions, a high-ranking official said.
Luis Rua, Secretary of Commerce and International Relations at Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, led a delegation in discussing with their counterparts at the Department of Agriculture (DA) the growing agriculture trade between the two countries.
Part of the discussions was the expansion of Brazilian beef exports to the Philippines, particularly on bone-in cuts and offals, Rua said.
This is in light of the forthcoming recognition by the World Organization for Animal Health in May of Brazil's status as free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination, Rua added.
Rua noted that Brazil exported about 600,000 metric tons of meat products to the Philippines last year.
