Anti-fraud advocate Scam Watch Pilipinas will ask Congress to revise the SIM Registration Act to place a cap on the number of mobile numbers an individual can own.

- — Elijah Felice Rosales

Scam Watch Pilipinas co-founder Jocel de Guzman yesterday proposed imposing a limit of up to 10 SIMs for every Filipino to minimize the room for fraudulent activities.

De Guzman said it is questionable for any individual to own more than 10 SIMs, unless they run a business that has to operate multiple contacts for customer service.

Ideally, De Guzman said an adult Filipino can own as many as three SIMs: one for personal use, one for mobile WiFi and another for home internet. If they have a family, they can use the remainder of their personal cap to register the SIMs of their children.
