JKRCEEA demands immediate restoration of reservation in promotions

J&K Reserved Categories Electrical Engineers Association (JKRCEEA) has issued a strong appeal to the Union Territory administration for the immediate restoration of reservation in promotions for reserved category employees, citing constitutional amendments, Supreme Court rulings, and orders from J&K High Court and Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) benches.
Addressing the media in Jammu, Legal Advisor Shashi Bhushan Thappa, along with Advocates Anwar Choudhary, Parvez Ahmed Choudhary, and Mohd Akram Choudhary, highlighted the ongoing legal battle over promotion reservations. They noted that the 2015 J&K High Court judgment striking down reservation in promotion was stayed by the Supreme Court in multiple Special Leave Petitions, which upheld promotions for reserved categories subject to eligibility and vacancy availability.
