U'khand govt reduces weight of school bags

THE Uttarakhand has undertaken a new initiative to standardize school bags for Classes 1-12 to reduce students' physical and mental burden.
Despite several previous experiments, education standards failed to show significant improvement, prompting strategists to propose a new measure.
According to sources, the state education ministry has decided to regulate the weight of the school bags to alleviate the students load and enable them to focus on learning. This move follows guidelines by the Government of India issued to regulate teaching and school bag weight.
