Leh DM to SC: Wangchuk engaged in activities prejudicial to na’tl security

THE Leh District Magistrate on Tuesday filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court charging the popular climate activist, Sonam Wangchuk, with indulging in activities prejudicial to the national security, and defended his detention under the National Security Act (NSA).
The Leh DM said, “The detention order has been forwarded to the Advisory Board as required by the Union Territory of Ladakh within the period prescribed under the provision,” the DM said. It also clarified that his wife was immediately informed about the arrest by Leh police, and about his transfer to Jodhpur also.
