Husband 'tied to tree', wife gang-raped at a picnic spot in MP's Rewa; 7 nabbed

A newly-married couple picnicking on a hillock was first held captive and then the woman was gang-raped by five highly intoxicated men in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. Seven of the eight suspects in the October 21 assault and gang-rape have been arrested.

The ghastly crime took place on a rocky hillock—around 2 km from Bhairav Baba Temple—on October 21 afternoon. The accused, numbering eight, who were partying on the same hillock with liquor and drugs caught the couple. They first assaulted the couple, and then tied the husband with a tree. The woman was subsequently gang-raped by five.

The couple's horror, however, didn't end there, as one of the accused even filmed the crime on his phone. The accused then threatened to make the video viral if the couple reported the incident to the police.
