PRESIDING over the marriage of 72 couples organised by the ruling DMK as part of the party president and Chief Minister MK Stalin's 72nd birthday celebrations, the party's youth wing secretary and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, citing the alleged delimitation exercise, advised newly-married couples to have babies soon but not many.

Chief Minister MK Stalin had also given a similar advice for the same reason when he presided over a wedding in Nagapattinam earlier this month. His remarks attracted nationwide attention. While the chief minister stopped with the advice that newlyweds should be encouraged to have children early, the deputy CM on Wednesday added it is important to not have many children.
