EU fines Apple, Meta for digital anti-trust practices

THE European Commission has imposed fines of 500 million euro on Apple and a 200 million euro on Meta for violating the Digital Markets Act (DMA), a move to address anti-competitive practices in digital sector.

As per a report, Apple was fined for violating regulations related to its app store rules, while Meta was penalised for its "pay or consent" advertising model, which requires EU users to pay for ad-free versions of Facebook and Instagram.
