Boxing: Delhi HC sets aside IOA's ad-hoc panel

IN a big relief to the Boxing Federation of India, the Delhi High Court has set aside the ad hoc committee formed by the Indian Olympic Association on February 24.

The BFI had approached the court after IOA president PT Usha formed a five-member ad hoc committee primarily for not holding elections on time.

According to BFI lawyer, who specialises in sports, Parth Goswami, the High Court has taken cognizance of their petition and just like in the case of the Bihar Olympic Association where the Delhi HC’s single bench judge Sachin Datta stayed ad hoc committee of Bihar Olympic Association followed the same directive this time as well. “The Delhi HC had stayed the ad hoc committee formed by the IOA through its letter dated February 24,” said Parth Goswami. This was on the expected lines after the same judge stayed with the ad hoc panel of the Bihar Olympic Association.
