Tiruvuru civic poll: HC raps police for failing to enforce directives of EC

During the case hearing on Tuesday, Justice Dr Yi Lakshmana Rao expressed concern over the lack of security for YSRCP councillors in the Tiruvuru Nagar Panchayat election, questioning, "What is happening in Andhra Pradesh?" The court called out the police's inefficiency, stating their duty to protect voters is non-negotiable. It warned of severe consequences for any overreach, from DGP to constables, while also cautioning YSRCP councillors against unlawful actions.
