SC Rejects Appeal in MUDA Case, Slams ED

NOTING that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was being used as a tool in political battles, the Supreme Court on Monday strongly questioned the probe agency's conduct in politically sensitive cases, as it upheld the Karnataka High Court's decision to quash the case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife, B M Parvati, in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case.
"Let political battles be fought before the electorate. Why are you being used?" said a two-judge bench of the top court, headed by Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran.
