Foreign MBBS Grad Parents Protest Demanding Relaxation in Internship

IN a growing outcry over internship hurdles, dozens of parents of foreign-returned MBBS students staged a protest in Tirupati on Monday, urging the Andhra Pradesh government to align with the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines and relax the extended internship period.
The protest took place outside a private hospital, where parents alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Dr NTR University of Health Sciences was enforcing a two-year unpaid internship—one year of clerkship followed by a one-year regular internship—contrary to NMC norms.
