The management of JIPMER institute in Puducherry recently issued an urgent circular cancelling all the leaves and vacations of its employees, to ensure operational readiness and uninterrupted delivery of services amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
According to the circular, the employees on leave have been asked to report for duty immediately, and those out of station are told to return to work by May 13 (Tuesday). All previously approved leaves stand cancelled, it added. No new leave requests would be sanctioned until further notice, except in cases of severe medical emergencies or other critical situations, mentioned the directive, signed by JIPMER senior administrative officer Hawa Singh. Also, the summer vacation schedule has been revised, with the first half of it curtailed, requiring all faculty members to return to work by May 13. The second half of the vacation, originally set to commence on May 17, has been entirely cancelle
