Eco-friendly benches made of 9L recycled bottles

|April 06, 2025
The Sports Department of Uttarakhand has launched an initiative aimed at bringing about social change through sports.
Plastic bottles used during the 38th National Games earlier this year—hosted under the theme of Green Games—have been recycled to create eco-friendly benches, now installed at the Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun.
Speaking exclusively to TNIE, Uttarakhand Sports Minister Rekha Arya highlighted the state government's commitment to sustainability. Discussing the state's decision to organise the sporting event with a focus on sustainability, she shared, "Several innovative initiatives have been launched, and this is just one such initiative."
