Chennai Tops in Availing Loans for Vendors Under PM's Scheme

CHENNAI has emerged the top district in the state in availing loans under the PM SVANidhi scheme for street vendors with over 1 lakh beneficiaries, while Perambalur recorded the lowest with only 966 receiving financial assistance.
In response to a query raised by DMK's parliamentary party leader K Kanimozhi, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu said Tamil Nadu accounts for 3,99,406 beneficiaries under the scheme, making it a significant contributor at the national level.
