Promoter group firm ICIL has sold 5.1 cr shares of 2nd largest telecom co

Sunil Bharti Mittal-backed Indian Continent Investment Limited (ICIL) has offloaded ₹8,500 crore worth of shares in Bharti Airtel.

According to a statement released by the company, ICIL sold 5.11 crore shares of Bharti Airtel through a market transaction. Bharti Telecom Limited, one of the largest promoters of Bharti Airtel, will acquire 1.20 crore of those shares. ICIL currently holds 3.31% in Bharti Airtel. "Indian Continent Investment Limited (ICIL), a promoter-group entity of Bharti Airtel Limited, has today sold 0.84% shareholding (5.11 crore shares) in Airtel via a market transaction, for an aggregate amount of ₹8,485.11 crore," Bharti Airtel said on Tuesday in an exchange filing.
