The police on Wednesday arrested a man who allegedly carried out thefts at nine houses in Thamarassery recently.

The arrested is Shajimon, 45, a native of Karunagappally. He was apprehended in Gudalur after a tense two-hour stakeout by a police team led by Thamarassery inspector Sayooj Kumar.

Police said Shajimon is a history sheeter with over 60 theft-related charges across the state.
