Min: State's New Film Policy Will Boost Documentary Sector

Expected to be finalised in next 3 months | Documentary fest comes to a close
THE STATE'S upcoming comprehensive film policy will include specific measures to support and promote the documentary film sector, said Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian. The policy is expected to be finalised within the next three months. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 17th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK), held at Kairali Theatre on Wednesday.
Minister said the presence of veteran documentary filmmaker Rakesh Sharma at the festival represented the festival's stand against communalism. Sharma was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to documentary cinema.
