HC warns against theatrics; Boby says ready to tender unconditional apology

THE Kerala High Court on Wednesday decided not to proceed with the cancellation of the bail granted to businessman Boby Chemmanur, which it had hinted at earlier in the day, after considering his lawyer's submission that he is ready to tender an unconditional apology if required.

When the case relating to Boby's statements after being released from jail was taken up in the afternoon session, the counsel submitted that he had expressed regret over the statement and that it was a slip of the tongue.

The counsel further submitted Boby had been asked not to make such a statement. On coming to know about the criticism on the part of the court, he expressed his willingness to give an unconditional apology, the counsel said. The court accepted that and decided not to proceed further.
