5-member panel formed to study ASHAs' issue

HEALTH department has constituted a high-level committee to study issues raised by ASHA workers, 38 days after Health Minister Veena George announced the intention to form the committee as a condition to end the strike.
The five-member committee will be chaired by women and child development department director Haritha V Kumar. Health department additional secretary R Subhash is the convenor. Besides, two additional secretaries from the finance and labour departments will be nominated as committee members. The fifth member is K M Veena, the head of social development at the National Health Mission.
