'Short order' before final judgement for AIFF case

|September 02, 2025
THE Supreme Court on Monday reserved the order involving renewal of the Master Right Agreement (MRA) between the FSDL and All India Football Federation (AIFF) that will pave way for hosting the Indian Super League (ISL).
Justices PS Narasimha and Joymalya Bagchi of the Supreme Court during the hearing said that the bench would first pass a short order on this urgent issue and then pass a verdict regarding the constitution. The bench also said that the constitution is ready but because of the Sports Governance Bill 2025 that is on the verge of becoming an Act, they are not pronouncing it. However, even if the order is passed, it will only last until the Act comes into force. As of now, an interim body is running the AIFF. On Monday, the bench heard all stakeholders before pronouncing the final judgement on the Federation's draft constitution.
