Rupee saw its worst single-day fall since April 9; equities market closed slightly higher; gold rallied over ₹500/10g
DOMESTIC equity benchmarks closed marginally higher in a volatile session on Wednesday as the country launched missile strikes on terrorist hideouts in nine places inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The local currency logged its worst single-day fall in a month, losing 0.5% to close at 84.8250, its worst performance since April 9.
Other asset classes - safe haven gold and government bonds - performed mixed, with gold rallying 540/10 grams to ₹99,150 but benchmark 10-year bond yield fell to 6.3381% on Wednesday.
