New life has begun for displaced, says minister after move under CAA
In a push under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 185 Pakistan-displaced individuals were granted Indian citizenship in Gujarat on Friday.
At an event in Rajkot, Union Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi handed over the certificates to refugees settled in Kutch, Morbi, and Rajkot, assuring them full government support and access to welfare schemes. Sanghvi declared that "a new life has begun" for these displaced persons from Pakistan after they obtained Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
