Steps are being taken to integrate the e-way bill generated through the Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal with the mineral transport permit (RDMDP) for transporting sub-minerals. Mines and Horticulture Minister SS Mallikarjun said recently.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE Davanagere

Speaking at a meeting to review the progress achieved by his department in Bengaluru, he said the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Application Centre (KSRSAC) has been given a task to conduct a drone/DGPS survey on the lands given on lease to extract minerals. This is to identify extraction of minerals outside the land leased. The survey has been completed in all districts.

He said work on determining the quantity of sub-minerals extracted and transported from the lands leased is on. Steps will be taken to collect royalties and other charges from the contractors by conducting surveys on a quarterly basis.
