Instructs money lenders to follow ethical practices and avoid overburdening borrowers
LOANS should be granted and collected in compliance with the law, and lenders must verify existing debts of the borrowers before issuing new credit, Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde said. Hegde said that lenders should follow ethical lending practices and avoid overburdening borrowers while speaking at a meeting with financial institutions, microfinance agencies, and private lenders at his office here on Wednesday.
