The state government has selected Gowramma, founding president of the Charaka Women's Multipurpose Industrial Cooperative Society in Heggodu-Honnesara, for the 2024 Karnataka Janapada Academy Award.
Gowramma, a Hase Chittara artist, was the first to showcase that the traditional Malnad wall paintings could also be recreated on files, cloth and pen stands. She has been involved in Hase Chittar
